Please find attached version 2 of my system for deunifying wealth.

  I have taken into account a lot of the comments people made on
version 1.  I've made a partial concession in the area of hours worked
- the cost of this has been halved (the shaved points have been
absorbed by Starting Income.  This makes Dead Broke cost approximately
the same as Poor, the drop in money offset by the extra free time.

  A couple of quick notes:  Where Starting Wealth is mentioned it
refers to basic starting Wealth for the *campaign* - not the
individual wealth level in any given area.  Also, the listed Basic
Wealth for modern day of $15,000 was valid when GURPS was brought out.
Now, $18,000 is more appropriate.  You'll also notice I'm doing income
a totally different way.

Intermediary or extended levels are included for some of them - these
will be marked with a '#'.  (Thanx to tbarnes for this)

Also note that, in modern societies, individuals who are on the dole
should purchase wealth on an individual basis.  Dole income is usually
poor, but the amount of hours spent 'on the job' vary dramatically
from individual to individual.

2. Income

  Income is purchased in the standard GURPS Wealth levels and has the
effects on income listed in the job income table (p.192 GURPS Basic)
and in Job Tables for the appropriate campaign.

No Income                             -13 pts
Poor                                  -08 pts
Struggling                            -05 pts
Average                                00 pts
Comfortable                            05 pts
Wealthy                                10 pts
Very Wealthy                           15 pts
Filthy Rich                            25 pts

  There are no additional levels of this as there are no jobs rated
higher than Wealthy anyway!  Note though that levels of Income higher
than Wealthy have the effects listed on the Job Income Table.

3. Work Hours

  Amount of time spent earning a living is purchased as follows:

50 Hours/week                        -03 pts
40 Hours/week                         00 pts
30 Hours/week                         02 pts
20 Hours/week                         04 pts
10 Hours/week                         08 pts
00 Hours/week                         12 pts

  Additional hours beyond 50 are a disadvantage worth -3 pts per 10
hours.
