Copyright (c) 1996 by Richard Keehn I'm working on some new appearance modifiers, not based on the attractiveness scale, but upon other factors: Androgynous: You can easily pass for the opposite gender. Reaction modifiers are averaged where the modifiers differ according to gender (ie, a Beautiful character would receive a +3 modifier to both genders rather than a +2/+4 modifier based on the gender of the NPC). I don't know what point cost to assign this. Would this be an advantage (5 points maybe) or a quirk (since it essentially balances out appearance mods - although it would make disguise oneself as the opposite sex easier) Fearsome Appearance: -2 reaction modifier except in potential combat situations where you receive a +1 reaction modifier (basically, the reaction modifier portion of Gigantism). I wanted to give this kind of modifier to races that aren't really ugly, but have the kind of cast about them that says "I could kill you with ease if I really wanted to" without necessarily a racial reputation of being cold blooded killers. I was thinking of using this kind of modification for Reptile Men, and also for Minotaurs (instead of "Hideous Appearance"). Another race in the campaign I'm working on, Trolls (similar to the ones in "Changeling") also have this modifier (They're not ugly at all as a race, just very, very intimidating). I was thinking of assigning -10 points for this disadvantage (I felt that the social reactions far outweighed the combat reactions to make the +1 reaction modifier negligible).
