Non-Human Martial Arts Maneuvers Copyright (c) 1996 by Benson Fong Double Kick (Hard) Defaults to Kick-1; Cannot be improved beyond skill This attack can only be used by species with three or more legs. A character doing a double-kick kicks with both front or rear legs at a single target (this assumes that the character has bilateral symmetry like most higher life forms on Earth; the GM must decide if characters with radial or other symmetrical schemes can use this maneuver). If successful, the attack does damage twice. Armor protects against both attacks separately, but the attack does knockback damage for the full total. A double-kick can only be directed against front or rear hexes, but most multi-footed creatures are built so that it may be performed at no penalty if the kick is directed towards the hex immediately behind the kicker. Tail Sweep (Average) Defaults to any combat skill-2 Cannot be improved beyond skill+ This maneuver is available only to species with large, thick tails. A tail sweep knocks over an opponent by taking his legs out from under him. A Tail Sweep is treated as a Sweeping Kick (p. MA56), except it may be performed against front hexes at -2 and side and rear hexes at no penalty, and a successful parry will not subject the attacker to the possibility of a Leg Grapple. Wing Strike (Hard) Defaults to Feint-2 Cannot be improved beyond skill+2 This maneuver is available only to species with the Winged Flight or Gliding advantages. While most flying species' wings, due to their internal structure, are not solid enough to do real damage, they are still strong and large. A winged character may batter his opponent with his wings to confuse him. A wing strike is treated as a Feint performed at -2, as bending the wings forward to perform the maneuver is a somewhat unnatural position. Wings strikes to the side may be performed at no additional penalty. If successful, the penalty applies to the victim's next attack as well as to his active defense. If a character does a wing strike, his wings may be targeted from the front that turn.
