Power Maneuver (+0%): the Super Power is actually a "power-stunt" of another power. As such, the two powers cannot be used simultaneously. In addition, this Super Power does not have an associated Super Skill; instead, it is a Hard Maneuver of the primary power (Default = Primary Super Skill - LC of this power, cannot exceed primary super skill). The primary super ability must have a higher LC than this power, and it must have a Skill associated with it. Versatile (+20%): this gives you a +1 to the Default of every Power Maneuver based off of this super skill (note: the Power Maneuver's maximum level is not affected by this Enhancement; if you have Laser-16, the highest level a Laser Maneuver can achieve is still 16, no matter how many levels of Versatility you give the Laser). This Enhancement can be taken multiple times. Power Stunts (optional rule): You may, with GM permission, attempt a Power Maneuver that you have not purchased; to do so, expend a number of character points equal to the power level you are attempting (maximum of the primary power's level); these points are applied toward purchasing that Power Maneuver. Roll against the maneuver at default. Once you have purchased the Power Maneuver, you may expend further character points to increase the Power Level, or to improve the Maneuver beyond its default. If you attempt a Power Maneuver at a level higher than you have purchased it, you spend points as above. --- To demonstrate these rules, let's look at an experienced Super named Photon, and his kid sister, Flashlight (I know; corny. It's a pet name, alright?): Photon has DX 10 and the following Super Powers: 42 pts Laser[7] (LC 6) 20 pts Flash[5] (LC 4) 10 pts Illuminate[10] (LC 1) 15 pts Broadcast-5 (LC 3), Cannot be Jammed, Requires Targeting Roll to communicate (net +0%) 20 pts Laser-13 1 pt Flash-10 (Default Laser-4) 0 pts Illuminate-12 (Default Laser-1) 2 pts Broadcast-12 (Default Laser-3) Flashlight has DX 13 and the following Super Powers: 50 pts Laser[7] (LC 6), Versatile (+20%) 15 pts Broadcast-5 (LC 3), Cannot be Jammed, Requires Targeting Roll to communicate (net +0%) 8 pts Laser-13 2 pts Broadcast-13 (Default Laser-2) Flashlight enters a dark room; being a little afraid of the dark, she decides to Illuminate the room with her Laser power. As per the Power Stunts optional rule, she spends 7 pts for the chance to use Illuminate at Power 7, and rolls against her Default of (Laser skill - LC of Illuminate + 1 for Versatility), or 13. The 7 pts purchase seven levels of Illuminate (LC 1), so she can use Illuminate at Level 7 or less from now on without having to spend points. She succeeds, and finds herself staring into the face of the Boogey-man. Startled, she attempts to blind him so that she can make a break for it. She attempts to Flash it with Power 5; she spends five points, and rolls against her default of Laser-4+1, or 10. In doing so, she purchases one level of Flash, and applies one point toward buying a second level. In the future, she will be able to use Flash at level one without spending points. She fails, and decides to try again. This time she tries Power 7; she spends her seven points (since she only has Power 1 for Flash), and again rolls at a default of 10. She has now purchased Flash[3], meaning that, in the future, she can use Flash at Power 3 or less without having to spend points. She fails again. Photon enters the room, sees the Boogey-man, and attempts to Blind it by blasting its eyes. Photon spends 4 points for the opportunity to use Blind(LC 5) at Level 4, and rolls against Laser - 5, or 8. He now has 4 pts applied toward buying a level of Blind - not enough to buy even one level, but he's getting there. End result: Flashlight just spent 19 points toward improving her powers, and Photon just spend 4 points toward improving his. Flashlight will not be able to keep up this rate of development for long... Photon's new stats are: 42 pts Laser[7] (LC 6) 20 pts Flash[5] (LC 4) 10 pts Illuminate[10] (LC 1) 15 pts Broadcast[5] (LC 3), Cannot be Jammed, Requires Targeting Roll to communicate (net +0%) 4 pts Blind[0] (LC 5) 20 pts Laser-13 1 pt Flash-10 (Default Laser-4) 0 pts Illuminate-12 (Default Laser-1) 2 pts Broadcast-12 (Default Laser-3) Flashlight's new stats are: 50 pts Laser[7] (LC 6), Versatile (+20%) 12 pts Flash[3] (LC 4) 7 pts Illuminate[7] (LC 1) 15 pts Broadcast-5 (LC 3), Cannot be Jammed, Requires Targeting Roll to communicate (net +0%) 8 pts Laser-13 0 pts Flash-10 (Default Laser-3) 0 pts Illuminate-13 (Default Laser-0) 2 pts Broadcast-13 (Default Laser-2)
