Copyright (c) 1996 by Michael Smith A while back a friend of mine and I were complaining about the lack of the average super-hero game to be able to accurately mimic the inhuman strengths and speeds of some of the more popular heroes, like Superman or the Hulk or the Flash (at least in our humble opinions). So we created a new system for purchasing Superhuman levels of Speed and Strength. Basically the characters Base Speed and Strength are determined normally, within basic human ranges, this allows you to rank characters who have the same basic level of Superhuman Speed or Strength, but may be stronger or weaker than each other. For instance Clark Kent looks like he works out fairly often, he'd have Superhuman Strength 10, but may only have a 13 or 14 strength as a human. Captain America on the other hand is the pinnacle of human perfection, and has at least Strength 20. If Cap were a Kryptonian, he'd wipe the floor with Kent, since he would be the pinnacle of Kryptonian physiology as well. Once the Base Speed and Strength has been determined, you purchase the Superhuman modifiers, which give the characters their phenomenal powers, and the modifiers that go with them.
