The Mouldey Report: An Introduction for the Field Agent Copyright (c) Mark ========================================================== A summary of the Mouldy report follows. It should not be taken as substantiated truth. However, it is viewed as having a high degree of reliability. Of all documented cases of paranormal activity, the basic findings of the Mouldy Report correlate with almost all physical evidence, and has been adopted by the department as a functional, working hypothesis. The Report ---------- The original report is restricted, and contains a large number of unproven speculations and guesses about peripheral matters, many of which have been discounted as groundless. However, the framework, based on agent Mouldy's fieldwork and research is seen as definitive at the current time. The Report consists of five volumes. In all the Report consists of more than five thousand pages. Volume One: The first volume of the report relates background material, gleaned from a variety of sources, many ancient and archaic. Volume Two: Is an edited collection of Fieldnotes from the cases covered by Agent Mouldy. Volume Three: Is a collection of speculative reports written over time by Agent Mouldy. Volume Four: This volume is a detailed explanation of Agent Mouldy's theory of what lies behind most (if not all) of the paranormal activity investigated and recorded by the Government. Volume Five: This document outlines Agent Mouldy's recommendations for a comprehensive plan for dealing with paranormal activity. Summary ------- The theory explained in volume four of the Mouldy Report rests on the theory that there is another, inhabited dimension closely related, but radically different than this one. This basic premiss is one of the most hotly debated elements of the theory. This second dimension is strictly one of energy, containing no matter whatsoever. Yet it holds "inhabitants," beings of energy. Agent Mouldy suggests that it might be termed the "Spirit World" but avoids using this term in the report. He maintains that beings from this one dimension can under certain circumstances manifest themselves, or cause phenomena, by manipulating matter and energy in this dimension. The nature of these manifestations vary, but he proposes what he terms a lifecycle (PEDAL) for these beings. This lifecycle may be a poor explanation of the reality, but is deemed to be at least a very functional, practical myth, in that it gives agents a working way of thinking about these being when encountering them in the field. Paranormal Energy Dimensional Alien Lifecycle (PEDAL) ----------------------------------------------------- Phase One: PHENOMENA At this phase, the entity has just realized/aquired the ability to manifest itself in this dimension. There is little or no evidence of intent or control. Freak accidents, highly improbable series of unlikely events, etc... might be evidence of such incursion. Agents are warned that most often, such events are exactly what they appear to be: coincidence. Phase Two: POLTERGEIST At this phase the entity has awakened to our world, manifesting itself usually through possession of item, location, or life form. The entity then makes conscious efforts to manipulate matter and events in this dimension. However there seems to be little purpose, planning and direction. Such manifestations may be dangerous, but are much more likely to be just confusing or silly. An oddity appears at this point; the manifestations from this point, and through the next few phases, seem to demonstrate a strong affinity or respect for nature, other than human life. There are many exceptions to this, but the pattern is strong enough to pose an interesting riddle. Phase Three: MAGIC At this point the entity manifests itself usually through possession of item, location, or life form. The possession is almost always subtle, and very difficult to detect. The host object or being still acts much as it did before possession. It has identified with human society to a significant degree, developing an agenda of some type, although the agenda may seem irrational, radically insane, or absolutely alien. At this point, the entity often becomes intentionally hostile to humans. Phase Four: BEAST In this phase, the entity establishes an obvious ability to manifest itself in physical form, although it may often hide such manifestations. Again, it usually manifests itself through possession of item, location, or life form. It still demonstrates the sophisticated grasp of events, culture, etc... in this dimension that appear in Phase Three, but seems to loose its concern for being subtle and discrete. In this phase, the entity manifests the most radical, physical changes in its host. For instance, the mass of the host may be triple, ar its basic physical structure may be redesigned from the DNA up. Phase Five: UNDEAD Although the theory uses the archaic term "undead" for this phase, it has been retained with good reason. Manifestation at this point seems to always be in inanimate objects, or in dead lifeforms. This is considered one of the most dangerous phases in which to encounter an entity for the field agent, in that often the entity at this point demonstrates great power, cunning, and radical hatred for humans. Phase Six: SPIRIT At this point the entity seems to no longer require a host of any kind, usually manifesting itself in pure energy forms. When manifesting itself materially, it seems to not use a host, but create (draw?) the matter from no visible or discernable source. Although usually more powerful at this point, the danger seems to be reduced by the fact that the being looses much of its hostility and understanding of this dimension. Agents at this point are cautioned that entities in this phase should be avoided. The main danger from them appears to be getting in their way. Although they exhibit low hostility, they also seem to show little concern or respect for humans. The most baffling aspect of the existence of the entities is the absence of hard data concerning their existence. If they exist, and manifest themselves in the manner and number believed, why are sightings so unreliable and few? The answer is unclear, even to the best minds working on the nature of this problem. However Agent Mouldy suggests in his report that the answer lies in the nature of the relationship between the two dimensions. His theory about the nature of the home dimension of the entities suggest that the laws of nature and physics as we understand them are radically different in that dimension. He postulates that the zone of interaction between the energies from the two dismissions creates a field that acts as a pocket dimension, with its own physical laws. Events that occur within that field are consistant with their own internal rules, but not to the laws of either dimension. While inside this field, events are perceived within the context of the pocket dimension. As the pocket dimension moves or collapses, then everyone and everything within that field is "translated" into a form compatible with the resident dimension. This does not mean that things are as if the event never occurred, but rather that most residual evidence of impossible cause and effect relationships is trapped within the pocket dimension, the only place where it really ever existed at all. That some minor traces exist has been established, primarily by the use of highly sophisticated technology. Of course this remains one of the most speculative of Agent Mouldey's findings. This incredibly simplified version of the theory no doubt leaves more confusion and questions than it provides answers. To help clarify the theory in this non-technical introduction, examples of POSSIBLE manifestations (drawn from myth and folklore) are described and classified below as to the probable phase of the intruding entity, (in the unlikely event that the evet was not a hoax, or similar mundane event.) Bigfoot 4 Werewolves 4 Vampires 5 Ghouls 5 Ghosts 6 Modern Cannibals 3 Lochnest "Nessie" 4 Mass Murderers 3 Bermuda Triangle 1 UFO's 1 or 6 Leprechauns 2 Haunted place 1 or 2 Magic item 1 or 2 Elf 2 Dragon 4 Of course, the above are not intended to suggest that any such beings exist, but rather to give a feel for PEDAL. Your continued studies will present a much more accurate working frame of reference for you, the field agent. =================================================== Questions and Answers. Questions: Does this mean that vampires, werewolves and elves exist? No. This means that an alien entity has been discovered that can manifest in such a way as to seem similar to such traditional monsters in our folklore. Whether this has any connection with the origins of such mythical beasts is speculative, but the presence of this entity is not. Question: If the entity manifest itself in a form similar to a traditional monster from human myth, can folkwisdom in regards to that myth by of any practical use? To a certain, very limited sense, yes. For example, it seems that sunlight is a hazard to entities in phase five, but we do not understand why as of yet. But depending on such knowledge can easily get you killed. For example, if you are dealing with an entity that seems to follow the traditional form of a vampire, trying to use a wooden stake will get you killed. We have not encountered a single instance where such a weapon was of any significant use. Question: It seems from your description that such manifestations are common, yet are never heard of by the general public. How common are such manifestations. It is currently believed that such manifestation "events" number in the thousands world wide each year. Question: To what extent is this a threat to us? The threat potential is open to debate. But the official policy of this department is that this poses the greatest current threat to the survival of humanity. Of course the Merican Environmental Protection Agency would probably express a different view, even if they new of the existence of the entities. Questions: Is there really physical evidence of all this? Yes and no. The entities can manifest themselves in many ways. Take possession for example. An entity possess a dog. The dog's mass may increase three times, and grow a second head, large fangs, and razor-like claws. However, once "destroyed," the being, who primarily resides on another dimension and is nothing but energy, is "lost", and the form of the dog returns to "normal." But evidence does remain. The being leaves traces in its manifestation, and in manipulating the physical form of the dog does damage that is forensically detectable. And physical evidence such as film, footprints, video, etc... are only partially affected by the creatures "destruction" and the resulting collapse of the pocket diminsion (using Agent Mouldy's theory.) Can these entities be killed? It is our hope that they can, but our current belief that they can not. However, at all phases, it seems that by destroying their manifested form, the entity's ability to manifest in this dimension is disabled, perhaps permanently, which seems perhaps the best that we can hope for. Question: Is this a true "lifecycle" in the sense that the same entity progresses through each phase eventually becoming a "Spirit?" This is problematic. Without going into great detail, the answer would seem to be yes. Agent Mouldey firmly believed this, but other explanations are currently receiving serious consideration. But this may have little meaning, in that the entities have virtually no real "mind" or personality in the human sense of the word. At Phase Three, the entity would not recall any previous manifestations, but would consider itself to simply exit as it was. The "mind" of the creature seems to be derived from the host. Question: If they have no minds of their own, then what of those that "possess" an item, or those that possess nothing, as in the spirit? To say they have no mind is perhaps an overstatement, but this is a question best answered by experience. But the short answer is that such entity manifestations, that lack a thinking host, posses a very primitive, rudimentary intelligence. If it communicates with you, it does so by borrowing your own intelligence, rather than exhibiting its own. Tactically it might demonstrate an incredible cunning, but it will usually lack what we might term true human intellect. One might think of the entity, separate from its host at any level, as having a nature, rather than a mind. Question: Are there ways to detect entities? Are there technological aids available? Beyond obvious manifestations there is very little at this time that can be done to detect the presence of such entities. However, research is yielding some interesting findings some of which are being used to develop equipment for the field agent. Much of this equipment is highly classified, and further, the reliability of such prototypes is notoriously fickle. Your future training will include technological advances that may be of use to you in your specific situations.
