She was kept fairly isolated from the outside world as a result, enchanting magic items has some risks. Her main source of escape were the tales told by the Bard Tolinius, who visited the DiMaraquis estate two or three a month. Tolinius' tales of several legendary spies from the previous century were particularly favored by the young girl. Leianne had achieved her journeyman rank and was working towards mastering the enchant spell. The prerequisites for that spell lean towards a wide spread familiarity of spells and Leianne was allowed quite a bit of leeway in the spells she chose to study. The fact is, she took as many spells that had usefulness in espionage work as she could. She still managed to get close to her official goal when Olivia was killed by a miscast enchanting. She supports herself by making scrolls as well as casting an occasional healing or cure disease. She could do better by moving from the Capitol to someplace where there aren't as many compettitors, but her hope is to catch the attention of the Royal Secret Police, let them see how useful she'd be in their service. Roleplaying notes: Think of someone who acts the way actress Shannen Doherty is reputed to behave, with all the willingness to try half baked plans of Lucy & Ethel. Her basic saving graces are a decent intellect and a pretty useful batch of spells. Adventure Seed: Leianne HAS been noted by the secret police, and the agent who evaluated her has seen her temper, her lack of caution and her tendency to act without thinking things through and wisely has decided she is NOT a suitable recruit. However, the PCs or a friend/patron of theirs is under suspicion, and it's been decided the thing to do is to get the PCs into trouble, which the agents can use to lever the PCs into acting in the interests of the secret police. To that end, they introduce Leianne to the party. The method used is up to the GM, but it's possible for an agent to suggest that the PCs are enemies of the state in earshot of Leianne, or recommend her services as a mage to the PCs etc.
