He quickly joined a street gang and started living off small crimes. At 13½ he was arrested for murder attempt on a convenience store clerk and sentenced to six months of adult jail. However, he was also offered to avoid jail by volunteering for medical experimentation at Altered Corp. Even though the company was renowned for it's less than ethical experimentations (many of which dealed with various super powers), he accepted out of sheer terror for prison. He became subject Lef Kappa-23-4S and was the first one to get a general capacity boost, increasing his body and mind beyond normal human strenght. This resulted in a strange aging o his body, leaving him stranded into a (well-built, fortunately) 60-years old man's body. It also gave him strange precognitive habilities. He could sense events with strong emotional discharges up to several miles of distances, as well as having visions of such events when they had occured (Of would occur) in the same places than him. These visions of the various horrible pains and experiments inflicted in the labs almost drove him mad until he was moved to a much secluded area of the complex. Altered Corp's aim was to create the perfect mindless soldier/mercenary. They altered his genes in such a way that his body needed a daily intraveinous doses of complex palladium(a rare metal) salts in order not to ages suddenly. Only a few missed doese would mke the his aging rate accelerates exponentially and irreversible. This was the only reason he stayed there. After all, he could have killed all of them an escaped without a though if his 14-years old mind wasn't terrified at the idea of aging. Trained in the arts of battle, he knew that only one time he could escape: he had seen all his other plans fail into visions. And it happened. Nobody's sure exactly how, but each and every one of the altered were freed to weak havoc in the complex and have revenge over the doctors and soldiers. Kevin took his chance, grabbing in the processs another youngling named Terry Waspen, would had the hability to produce extremely powerful acid. This was just what he had seen, and what he needed: an acid that could dissolve palladium. They went to San Francisco were they established themselves as a strange mix of criminal and heroes. They would regularly raids jewellers and foundries to find the needed palladium, but would also regularly thwart various crimes, regardless of super involvement, as well as land a helping hand wherever needed at the critical moment. Unlike most "heroes", Kevin is far from above killing. Even though he won't needlessly endanger *innocent* bystanders, he won't hesitate a second to seriously injure one that attempts to stop him. He isn't above taking them into hostage either, though he'll liberate them asap. Kevin received his surname from his regular yell at various persons during and outside fights. He is also known for participate in crimes when they get him what he needs (Palladium, and sometimes money), though they know he could turn on them the next time they meet, no villain is insane enough to refuse the assets of such a powerfull person. He fiercely hates Altered Corps and will not run away of a fight with them nless hopelessly outnumbered, nor will he miss any chance to do them dammage. Lookout can be found commiting/fighting crime mostly in the San Francisco area, but most supers in Western US will have heard of him, as well as just about everybody in California. He might participate in a crime that the party must thwart, or help them in a job. He could even jin them if his precognitions tells him he won't be turned to the police. Finding a cure to his condition would make an ally out of him. It will always be extremely hard to find or capture him, though, as his precognition will usually warns him beforehand. Kevin is a gloomy, sage person, who knows, from training the precise extent of his power and isn't prone to overconfidence. He's terribly afraid of aging and will do anything to prevent it. He unfortunately doesn't have the knwledge necessary to research a cure by himself, but would give up everything for it if it was to exist. He is very protective of Acid Pit for two very different reasons: whitout him he couldn't make the needed palladium salts, and he looks at him as a youmger brother. Kevin is essentially a a very powerfull soldier, as proves his many combat skills, and such things as Electronics and Computer Hacking. Still, several of them are low-leveled due to incomplete training (Battlesuit, Judo and Karate, most noticeably). Living as ha criminal has taught him all about Streetwise, Fast-Talk and the like. His Disguise and Acting skills are very usefull to make him pass as an old, crippled man. On the other hand, he possess a powerfull precognition gift, which cannot be used consciously, and causes visions at random moments. Many of them are simply of soon-to-be occurence, though his Psychometry power might forces various past events on him. He also has an efficient Mind Block to defend himself against Psionics. Thanks to his Strategy and Tactics skill, Lookout can always focus on the critical point of a fight, as well as avoid incoming attacks while still managing to protect others. He'll most of the time fight hand-to-hand, though he always carries a small semi-automatic and a pistol, which he might use if necessary. He'll never pull back his punches, though will not for killing blws against normal supers (unless in a fight for Palladium.) Even him doesn't remember is childhood. As far as he can remember, Altered Corp's scientist have made delicate biochemistry experiment on him. Apparently, they'd learned from Kevin's case and never attempted to do more than one thing at a time. Terry (nicknamed Acid Pit), escaped just at the same times than Lookout, and was suddenly pulled into a room whil;e running amok in the complex. Than, an explosion rocked the hallway, who would had killed him had he been out. Thankfull to the man, he came with him. Ever since, he's provided Lookout with his acid to produce the Palladium salts and accompanid him in most of his adventures. Acid Pit is very rarely seen without Lookout. People could happen to remember the child, and discovering who he was before falling into the hands of Altered Corp. could be an interesting adventure seed. Terry is a yound, uncomplicated teen. His Common Sense and Immunity to Disease tends to keep him mostly out of the trouble he could easily get into living in the street. He is extremely grateful to Lookout for the countless times he's saved him and sees him as a bit of a father, even though he's well aware that they technically are the same age. He's not a good reader, nearly dyslexic, but that's not that much of a probl;em in his branch. Acid Pit's main power is his hability to spit penny-sized ball of acid spit up to 3 hexes long. Larger balls are possible, but reduces the range, takes longer and then recharges, making their use only good in close-range combat. Given enough times, this acid will melt *anything*. The side effects on his digestive system regularly prove themselves usefull for living in the streets. Otherwise, he is not a very powerfull opponent. His stats are very low, and even his battle skills are no match for most opponent, even though his staff allow good parry. In battle, Acid Pit will try to not get drawn into hand-to-hand battle. Against thugs or criminal supers, he'll usually spit at their eyes, blinding, or even killing them. If forced into battle, he'll try to use his staff to defend until he can escape. Against normals that aren't any danger, he'll aim for non-lethal parts of the body (usually hands) or weapons. He may also melt his way out of or in a situation if needs be.
