Kept the ratio. BACKGROUND: Silver Dragon's story starts back in high school. Carole Faulkner was a student who got involved with a gaming club that met Tuesdays in a classroom after school. One game she started playing was a now defunct fantasy roleplaying game called "Barbaric Planets". "Barbaric Planets" had a unique feature in that humans and other typical player character races were limited in advancement. (One probable reason for the game's collapse.) Creatures were ranked by Damage Class, from Z (insect) to A (Gods). A human infant would be DC "W", while Conan/Lancelot rank humans were DC "N". Since most of the game's adventures were aimed at DC L or better, players were encouraged to develop non-human characters. Faulkner's character was killed off early in the game, so she took over the part of a "Hell's Belle", a demonic seductress of living metal that another player had conjured up from the netherworld and enslaved. This character survived, and Faulkner enjoyed playing her. "Azakella" became her new character. Time passed, Faulkner was an architech major in college, getting ready for a Halloween costume party. Dressed up as an enchantress, with some archaic jewelry she'd found in a curio store, she was trying to make herself look incredibly sexy, and not doing a satisfactory job. She had the voice and gestures down pat from her drama class days, but just an average body. Memories drifted back to her role as Azakella, and how with nothing more than a kittenish purr of a voice she tricked the player whose character magically controlled Azakella into releasing that control, ultimately reversing the relationship. She stood before the mirror and said: "I wish I had Azakella's powers." and a bracelet she wore began to turn to smoke... For 2500 years, an effreet bound in that bracelet was waiting for the 3rd wish to be made, releasing it. Unlike the efreet of legend, this one was quite grateful to the woman who freed him, and willing to help. The effreet looked into Faulkner's past and found a copy of the Azakella character. As there was no real "Hell's Belles" to compare her with, the effreet settled for turning her into a being who matched the drawing and had the listed abilities. Then it bid goodbye and vanished. Faulkner found she could become herself again, and in fact become anyone else within plus or minus 20% of her body weight. The metallic body of the belle could be hidden from sight or turned off, though when off, the fleshy wings were too flimsy to provide flight. She attended the party as someone with the body of Heather Thomas, the face of Rita Hayworth, and the hair of woman in a pre- raphaelite painting. She was the unquestioned center of the party. Faulkner might have lived a life as a normal and kept her powers secret except that a fire broke out in a department store she was shopping in. She turned metallic as a safety precaution and flew over the crowd. From that vantage point she could tell that the fire was being taken care of and that panic was more a threat than the fire. Her leadership skill came to good use here and she had calmed the crowd down into an orderly evacuation. After brief questioning by the police, she thanked for her help. Being a celebrated hero appealed to her, and she became "Silver Dragon". Faulkner didn't remember the exact wording of her wish, and thinks she said "I wish I was Azakella." She has a strong fear that this evil demonic presence is lurking in the back of her mind, waiting to take over. The magic that made her Silver Dragon was detected by a sorcerer known as "The Lord of Mages", and after months of scrying he realized that the heroine Silver Dragon was the source of that power. He is trying to capture her in hopes of discovering a way of getting such power for himself. Around the same time that the Lord of Mages was investigating Silver Dragon, organized crime organization had taken up a contract to kill an author whose next book would detail much of the hidden international wealth of a certain nation's president. Silver Dragon had been called in to protect that author, and did, defeating their best agents with humiliating ease. The Mob wants revenge on her as well. They lost face and a lot of money because of her. Much of their operating money was laundered through that President's holdings, and when the book's evidence was made known, the President was forced to flee, and a good deal of that money has been frozen up or seized.
