He had a locker key and $100 in his pocket; no ID, no nothing. He searched the duffle in found in the locker and found a couple of clues: a vintage copy of Dashiel Hammett's "The Glass Key" and a .45 automatic. The rest was just clothes, shaving gear and the normal stuff. He went to the police station to ask for some help. He managed to down an escaping prisoner, as he walked in, which endeared him to the overworked police. They ran his fingerprints for him (a few days later, they found that he had no criminal history) and shuttled him over to "The Guardians" a super group in Boston. Even Psimon couldn't help him recover his memories, but they were able to help him realize that he was a super. He doesn't know about his immortality or his ability to mimic skills. All that he knows is that he heals quickly and can pick up things easily in a briefing and use them to go undercover to provide an "ace in the hole" for any of the Guardians' covert missions. With a bullet-proof vest on, he's an additional body against "normals". He still has problems with his memory. "Flashbacks" of military history since WWII keep bubbling up from the recesses of his mind and tormenting his dreams. He's not sure what he had done before, but he's not going to rest until he knows. Recently, he had an interesting sojourn into a hospital, because he found himself helping an EMT after a fire and found that he knew more about medicine than he thought he did. Going back to the hospital with them, he found that he knew more about surgery than he thought he did. He spent a fruitless week hanging around to see if it would trigger any more memories. (In the course of that, the Guardians stopped an organ-legging ring.) -JP -------------------------------------------------- JP LaFond jpl@think.com 617-234-3324 (Work) jp@neu.edu 617-731-8485 (Home)
