Copyright (c) 1995 by Paul Wrider Stuntman Hollywood calls for some very odd and specialized professions, but none has gotten more press than the stuntman (and woman). Paid to take the risks that the stars cannot (or will not) it's not unlikely that these men and women who endanger themselves for a living could get caught up in other forms of danger. For advantages, Absolute Timing and Alertness are both apropriate to stunt work. Combat Reflexes can also come in handy. Danger Sense is useful for when a stunt doesn't seem to be set up right, and High Pain Threshold when it wasn't. Luck can keep a stuntman in business, and Status is common to stuntmen with a reputation in Hollywood. Common disadvantages are Addiction (often due to chronic pain). An unpleasant appearance, from an accident or two. Hard of Hearing, again, from a bad stunt. Overconfidence and Reputation are also possible. Skills for a stuntman include Acrobatics, Demolitions (as they apply to explosions), many different Driving and Piloting skills, Escape, Jumping, Riding, Swimming, and can often include other, more unusual skills, such as Roping, Archaic Weapons, or Scuba.
