"Badger" Modular Infantry Blaster System V1.

The Badger is a Modular system of interchangeable parts built around a TL9 380 kJ Neutral/Charged Particle Beam. The standard configurations include a pistol, SMG, carbine, rifle, and sniper rifle. The sniper rifle is issued only on a case-by-case basis (the weight is prohibitive for normal infantry use). The pistol and carbine are the most common forms. A power-pack is highly recommended for the SMG, and useful for all other versions. A power-pack only version of the SMG is very common.

The blaster incorporates an electrolaser stun setting (See UT p51) with an RoF of one. The electrolaser uses double normal power. Switching between N-PAWS, C-PAWS or electrolaser is a free action with a successful Beam Weapon skill roll.

This design bends (maybe breaks) the design rules, as it breaks the blaster into two parts, the core blaster and a focus section. Other than that, it is an interesting system concept. The idea of handing a standard package to a troop that can handle almost all his needs is something with real appeal.

This is the fourth in a series of modular weapon systems.
