The 100-round helical magazines on Calicos use a sort of clock-work spring, and thus has to be "wound up" before it can be reloaded again. On the back of the magazine is a knob that has to be turned 14 (or is it 15?) times to apply the tension to the spring. Push the center of the knob to release the tension (good for storing a full magazine, because they take forever to load). Time to wind: 12 to 15 seconds, as little as 8 if you have some sort of crank attached to the knob.
