They still work out to medium combat loads and heavy mission loads, but my
set-up has it's advantages. The armor weighs 30 pounds less, so that's 30 more
pounds of bang-bang to send downrange. My troops are much less dependant on
batteries than yours are. Everyone in the squad carries the same ammo. This is
a very important point. Imagine that you are stuck in a foxhole with an empty
carbine, and the corpse next to you has gyroc clips, but no launcher.....
Stats and descriptions of my guns follow. They were designed for early GURPS
TL8 using 3G3.

The Type 96 is a caseless Japanese assault rifle from a game I once ran, set
during a war between us and a Russo-Japanese alliance. It is a bullpup with a
flat top-mounted magazine similar to the one used by the FN P90. The Type 98
Light Machine Gun is from the same game. It has a conventional layout, with
two 75 round drums and a dual feed mechanism.

The GW-2000 is a hypothetical caseless pump action grenade launcher. It looks
like a SPAS-12 shotgun with a fixed stock. The GW-2100 is a similar weapon
which attaches to the barrel of most assault rilfes. U.S. troops refer to
this combo as a "Ripley Special".
