Ling Po's Wondrous Pouches of Artifice A multi-purpose tool created by the insidious Ling Po, utilizing his Powder of Wondrous Artifice. The pouches are capable of creating a stream of Ling Po's Wondrous Powder, which can then be transformed into one of several constructions. When the control button on any of the pouches is touched, a stream of powder is released, which rapidly coalesces into whatever the desired object is. The constructs can be: Simple Tool or Weapon: This allows the user to create any simple (non moving) tool or weapon the user can imagine. All tools and weapons created in this manner are of superior quality. Weapons do more damage and are more accurate (Accuracy and Puissance). The weapon or tool produced is a permanent physical object. However, a specific invocation (The Crumbling Word of Ling Po)(Matter-3)(M/VH) can reduce the item to an inert powdery substance. The pouches can produce an unlimited number of such items each day. All items that are intended as weapons gain the Armor Piercing (1/2 DR), Instantaneous and Affects Insubstantial modifications. Quick-Change: This function of the pouches produces a cloud of the powder around the wearer which will instantly alter the user's clothing into whatever the user wishes. The clothing produced is of superior workmanship and incredibly durable (PD1 DR4). The Quick-Change also allows the wearer to create armor, however it cannot duplicate battlesuits or complex electronic systems. As with the tool/weapon option, the number of Quick-Changes per day is essentially unlimited. Complex Tool or Weapon: Allows the user to create a complex mechanical device, such as a pistol, nunchuk, manual typewriter, machinegun, etc. Basically anything that does not contain a battery or require electricity or fuel to run it (however bullets and gasoline are possible). The character must make a Will roll at -4 to successfully use this function, or must possess the Awareness advantage of at least level 1. All such items (as with the above) are of superior quality (Accuracy and Puissance) and are Armor Piercing, Instantaneous and Affect Insubstantial. Hatchetmen: The user can create a technomagical automaton, called a Hatchetman, that will follow simple instructions. A Hatchetman resembles a skeletal, armored demon figure of asian styling, apparently made of copper. The typical Hatchetman stands 6' tall and wields two swords of quality identical to those in the above examples. Their stats are as follows: ST 30 Move/Dodge 10/14 Size 1 DX 20 PD/DR 3/40 Weight 200 lbs IQ 6 Damage As weapon, or Thr 1d-1/Sw 1d+1 punching HT 20 Reach: C Fright Check -2 They possess Full Coordination and have Alertness +2 and Nightvision. They possess Sword-14, Climbing-14 and Brawling-14. No more than 4 Hatchetmen can exist at any one time. The user must make a Will Roll at -6 to create a Hatchetman. Wall or Shield: The user may use the powder to create a barrier (equivalent to the Wall of Earth super ability). This wall or shield may be used to protect the user from harm or as a temporary barricade. Unlike the other items, the Wall will only last 2d6 turns. Hole: This ability allows the user to create temporary "gates" in otherwise solid objects. The "gate" lasts only 2d6 turns before the item returns to normal. This only works on material objects and will not work on force fields or living things. This requires a Will-2 roll to activate. Tesseract: Like the Hole ability. The Tesseract creates a hole breaching two separate points of space/time. This can provide a temporary exit for the user. Once the Tesseract has been crossed, it disappears. The maximum range is 1d6*10 miles. Creating a Tesseract must be the only action (other than movement) that the user takes that turn. The Tesseract requires a Will-8 roll to open.
