Multiple rolls on this chart requires that the mage suffer the extra time, at the worst of the result rolled (ex: -9 for 3 weeks and -3 for 6 weeks, means -9 for 9 weeks). 14 Gain one phobia worth 10 points for 1 month. Roll vs willpower+1 or phobia is permanent 15 Gain one physical disadvantage worth 10 points for 1 month. Roll vs HT-1, or disadvantage is permanent. 16 Mage falls into magical slumber for 1d6 days. No penalty to any revive spells used on mage. Can not be awakened naturally. 17 Mage loses 1d6-2 (minimum) recovery rate 1d6 weeks. This result may be cumulative. If recovery rate is lowered below 1, add one week to the rolled duration, and recovery rate is set at 1. 18 Mage falls into magical slumber for 3d6 days - otherwise same as 16. 19 Mage's spell affects nearest friend instead (if offensive) or nearest enemy instead (if beneficial). 20 Mage is cursed with -2 curse 21 Mage loses 1d6 points of recovery rate for 2d6 weeks. May be cumulative. If recovery rate is lowered below 1, add one week to duration for each point below 1, and set recovery rate to 1. 22 Threshold reduced by 4d6+10. This lasts for 1d6 months after the umana threshold is back in the positive. In addition, the mage suffers a -3 penalty to all spell castings for two weeks after the implimentation of this result. 23 Mage falls into magical slumber for 1d6 weeks. Attempts to awaken the sleeping mage are at -1. 24 Spell affects nearest two friends (if offensive) or nearest two enemies (if beneficial) instead. 25 Mage must roll against aging at HT+1. This means one roll against every stat with failure meaning the permanent reduction by one. 26 All failed spells rolled from now on until the umana is recovered to zero, roll against the spell backfire chart of GURPS MAGIC on 2d6. 27 Temporarily forget spell just cast for 2d6 weeks 28 All failed spells rolled from now on until the umana is recovered to zero, roll against the spell backfire chart of GURPS MAGIC on 2d6 plus 6. 29 Mage falls into magical slumber for 1d6+6 weeks. Attempts to waken the sleeper are at -1. 30 Mage must roll against aging at HT. 31 Mage suffers the result of a permanent forgetfulness spell on the spell just cast. May be removed with the REMOVE CURSE spell. Treat the forgetfullness spell as having the same level as the spell just forgotten. Roll a contest of skill between the Remove Curse, and the spell just forgotten. Failure in the contest means the spell is forgotten permanently - you can of course relearn that Spell. All spells that required that spell as a pre-requisite, are at -5 until you relearn that spell. 32 Mage must roll against aging at HT-1. 33 Mage falls into magical slumber 1d6 months. Attempts to awaken the sleeping mage are at -2. 34 Mage's spell causes area to become aspected to the spell college of the spell just used. Radius of area is equal to the mage's IQ x Magery level. 35 Mage falls into magical slumber for 1d6+6 months. Attempts to awaken the sleeper are at -3. 36 Mage temporarily loses 1 from magical aptitude for 1d6+6 months. 37 All failed spells cast from now on until umana level is back to zero, roll on spell backfire chart at 2d6+6. This condition lasts for an additional 1d6 weeks past the umana reaching zero. 38 Mage loses ability to use Umana for 1d6 months. 39 Mage is cursed at -3. 40 Mage falls into magical slumber for 1d6 years. Attempts to awaken sleeper are at -4. 41 Mage falls into magical slumber for 1d6+6 years. Attempts to awaken sleeper are at -5 42 Mage falls into magical slumber for 1d6 decades. Attempts to awaken sleeper are at -6. 43 Mage permanently loses one level of magic aptitude. 44 Mage must roll against aging at HT-2 45 Mage must roll against aging at HT-4 46 Mage falls asleep for 1d6+6 decades. Attempts to awaken the sleeper are at -8. 48 Mage feels "wrenching of soul" - soul is now in nearby random object. Threshold is now halved. Mage must use analyze magic to determine which object now has his soul. 49 Mage loses threshold to nearby random object. Until mage finds said object, he will be unable to cast using umana again. Umana is permanently in object unless returned via major wish. NOTE: Since Umana is life oriented in my world, umana recovery can not happen unless the mage is holding the object. 50+ Hideous Death, and the area becomes death aspected in radius equal to IQ squared times magical aptitude.
