Combat Armor (TL 8) Copyright 1996 by James Lowry (jlowry@tfb.com). Here's a little thing I came up with for a GURPS DOOM game I'm running. (It's a good way to make sure I'm up to speed on the combat system.) The security armor is just regular PD 4, DR 8 armor, while this is meant to enhance maneuvering by making speeds of up to 16 mph available on foot. Also, the HT rating and components allow for heightened survivability. However, it is still meant as nothing more than a basic suit of (relatively) cheap powered armor for use with regular army forces. The armor uses Vehicles [Oct. 95 errata] and a power cell from Robots. Structure: 7 cf extra heavy standard body, max load 1125 lbs. (HT 75). Leg motive system with two legs (DR 12, HT 37). Sealed body, 1 cf limited- traverse turret (HT 6). Propulsion: 2 KW leg drivetrain. Power: D power cell (10 KWh, DR 5, HT 4). Endurance 5 hours. Accomodations: Skintight armor with head in turret. Vision: Clear helmet (turret) visor. Crew: 1 operator. Accessories: 2 light high-strength mecha arms (DR 6, HT 25, ST 25, exposed equipment), GPS, enviromental control, NBC kit, tactical radio (+2 intercept, 500 mi). Cargo: .226 cf wasted space. Armor: Body: 72 points expensive armor. F4/12, R4/12, L4/12, B4/12, T4/12, U4/12. Turret: 60 points expensive armor. F4/12, R4/12, L4/12, B4/12, T4/12. Statistics: Cost $11,282, design mass 268.675 lbs., max payload 856.325 lbs., current payload 200 lbs., loaded mass 468.675 lbs. (.234 tons), Size Modifier +0 (-2), Radar Signature +0, IR Signarture +0, Acoustic Signature +0. Ground Performance: Ground speed factor 8, top speed 16 mph, acceleration 3 mph/s, deceleration 25 mph/s, MR 2, SR 1.
