Jen and Kira. The male was Jen. They are about 3 feet tall, weigh perhaps 40 lbs, have slightly projecting faces and very elongated, pointed, ears. Jen is dark in skin tone, with dark hair, Kira is lighter in skin tone and very blonde. Kira, like other females of the species, has a pair of retractable, diaph- onous wings, like a bee's, which enable her to glide, though they cannot bear her weight in powered flight and are only barely capable of flapping. Little is known of their culture, since it was completely wiped out when the Skesis tried to gen- ocide their species. Kira was raised by, and is a part of, the pod people, culturally speaking, she is very in-tune with nature and the world, and has a ready empathy with animals, possibly enhanced with normal gelfling magic. Jenn was raised by, and is a part of, the Uru culture (inexplicably called "Mystics" in the movie) the "good" side of the Urskeks who darkened the Crys- tal. He had much less empathy with his own world, but is highly educated in more scientific/technical/magical disciplines of the Uru. Each dresses according to their adopted culture. With no trace of their original culture surviving the Skeksis's genocide of their people, it would seem likely that any progeny of theirs will likely partake of some of both pod and Uru cul- ture. The pod people, of course, survived the healing of the Crystal, however, the Uru were all recombined with their Skeksis counterparts when the Crystal re-lit, and are now gone, along with their learning and influence, so the new gelfling culture will probably stabilize along the lines of the pod people.
