Superwing v1.0 (TL 06 and higher) Copyright 1996 by Onno Meyer Driven by broadcast power, this plane circles the globe for months or years at a time. The Superwing can house nearly 400 passengers in cabins equalled by few flying vehicles. They come and go on smaller 'parasite planes' designed to hatch their 'skyhooks' into an 'arrester trapeze' below the hangar deck of the Superwing. In addition to a few cargo holds the flyer has a 'drop bay', but it is not really designed for combat. The Superwing has three radars: a massive general-purpose radar (nominal range 100 miles), a belly radar for navigation and survey (75 miles against ground targets) and a smaller rear radar (33.75 miles against aerial targets). The Superwing has one computer, but that mainframe is not involved in systems management. The Superwing is a TL06 vehicle [July 96 errata sheet] with TL08 power systems and an anomalous computer (computer stats as for TL7). Structure: 200,000 cf advanced light body (HT 25,000), maximum load 2,500 tons, good streamlining, sealed body, twenty retractable wheels (DR 2, HT 209/417), flying wing design (HT 15,000 each).
