PzKpfw III Ausf. D (Sd. Kfz. 141)

        In 1938 the Panzer III finally saw quantity production with thirty of
    the D type being built alongside thirty more command vehicles.  Extra fuel
    and armor was added as these were meant for more than field trials, and
    they served in Poland and France.
        The main armament is a 37mm anti-tank gun (crit|*|*|no|*|*|*|1/2|1)
    with AP (cr|6d*4|12|500|1 mi.) and HE (exp|6d[2d]|10|n/a|1 mi) ammunition
    and two MG34 machine guns (crit|cr|7d|19|10|1,000|3,900|15*|50) in the same
    mount in the turret, and another on the front of the hull.  The turret is
    motor-driven or turned with a hand crank.

    Elliot and Hilary Doyle as reference.
        The Panzer III D (v. 1.0) is a TL 6 vehicle [July 96 errata sheet] with
    a weapon from High Tech and my armor sloping table.

    Structure:  490 cf extra-heavy standard body, max. load 44,100 lbs. (HT
        1,200). Tracked motive system with two tracks (DR 3, HT 600).  18
        degree sloped front, 18 degree sloped back, sealed body.
    Turret:  65 cf standard full-traverse turret (HT 100).  18 degree sloped
        front, 25 degree sloped right, left.
    Propulsion:  180 KW tracked drivetrain.
    Power:  187 KW gasoline engine (DR 5, HT 75), uses 5.61 gallons/hour. 4
        16.5 gallon self-sealing gas tanks (DR 5, HT 12, fire 10), endurance
        11.76 hours.
    Accomodations:  5 cramped internal seats, 3 of which are half in the
        turret.
    Vision:  Slits.
    Crew:  5; driver, radio operator/hull gunner, commander, gunner, loader.
    Accessories:  Enviromental control.
    Turret Accessories:  Tactical radio (+0 intercept, 15 mi.).
    Weaponry:  37mm gun (DR 5, HT 25) and 2 co-axial MG34 machine guns ($400,
        27 lbs., DR 5, HT 12) in turret.  MG34 machine gun in forward casemate
        mount.  120 rounds of 37mm ammo, plus 4400 rounds of machine gun
        ammunition.
    Cargo:  50 cf cargo space, 20 cf access space, 102.82 cf waste space +
        17.78 cf waste space in turret.
    Armor:  244 points expensive armor.  F6/88 (slope), R5/41, L5/41, B5/38
        (slope), T5/28, U4/14.
    Turret Armor:  228 points expensive armor.  F6/88 (slope), R6/45 (slope),
        L6/45 (slope), B5/34, T5/30.
    Statistics:  Cost $121,185 (adjusted $8,079), design mass 29,368.5 lbs.,
        max. payload 14,731.5 lbs., max. cargo load 4,500 lbs., current payload
        1,000 lbs., loaded mass 30,368.5 lbs. (15.18 tons), Size Modifier +4
        (+2), Radar Signature +4, IR Signature +5, Acoustic Signature +6.
    Ground Performance:  Ground speed factor 12, top speed 27 mph, acceleration
        3.25 mph/s, deceleration 20 mph/s, MR .25, SR 7, gets 4.81
        miles/gallon.
