PzKpfw III Ausf. J/L (Sd. Kfz. 141/1)

        Hitler suggested in August 1940 that a longer 50mm gun should be made
    the standard Panzer III armament.  However, between the lack of
    availability of the current 50mm gun, and delays in setting up new
    production, it was some months before any action could be taken on this.
    26160 Js were produced from March 1941 and it was called the 'Mk III
    special' by British troops in North Africa.
        1900 Panzer III Ls were built from July 1942.  They were essentially
    just a slightly simplified version of the Ausf. J.
        The adjusted cost is pre-WWII even though this variant was developed
    after the war started. The main armament is a long 50mm anti-tank gun
    (crit|*|*|no|*|*|*|1/3|1) with AP (cr|6d*10|14|1,000|2 mi.) and HE
    (exp|10d[2d]|12|n/a|1.5 mi)  ammunition and a MG34 machine gun
    (crit|cr|7d|19|10|1,000|3,900|15*|50) in the same mount in the turret, and
    another on the front of the hull.  The turret is motor-driven or turned
    with a hand crank.
        The Panzer III J/L (v. 1.0) is a TL 6 vehicle [July 96 errata sheet]
    with a weapon from High Tech and my armor sloping table.

    Structure:  490 cf extra-heavy standard body, max. load 44,100 lbs. (HT
        1,200).  Tracked motive system with two tracks (DR 3, HT 600).  18
        degree sloped front, back, sealed body.
    Turret:  65 cf standard full-traverse turret (HT 100).  18 degree sloped
        front, 25 degree sloped right, left.
    Propulsion:  232 KW tracked drivetrain.
    Power:  239 KW gasoline engine (DR 5, HT 75), uses 7.17 gallons/hour. 4
        16.5 gallon self-sealing gas tanks (DR 5, HT 12, fire 10), endurance
        9.21 hours.
    Accomodations:  5 cramped internal seats, 3 of which are half in the
        turret.
    Vision:  Slits.
    Crew:  5; driver, radio operator/hull gunner, commander, gunner, loader.
    Accessories:  Enviromental control, 5 smoke dischargers.
    Turret Accessories:  Tactical radio (+0 intercept, 15 mi.).
    Weaponry:  Long 50mm gun (DR 5, HT 50) with a co-axial MG34 ($400, 27 lbs.,
        DR 5, HT 12). MG34 machine gun in forward casemate mount.  84 rounds of
        50mm ammo, plus 2200 rounds of machine gun ammunition.
    Cargo:  50 cf cargo space, 20 cf access space, 77.26 cf waste space + 13.78
        cf waste space in turret.
    Armor:  140 points advanced laminate armor, 359 points expensive armor.
        F6/147L (slope), R6/90, L6/90, B6/88 (slope), T6/50, U5/45.
    Turret Armor:  160 points advanced laminate armor, 242 points expensive
        armor.  F6/168L (slope), R6/99 (slope), L6/99 (slope), B5/34, T5/28.
    Statistics: Cost $180,185 (adjusted $12,012), design mass 37,417 lbs., max.
        payload 6,683 lbs., max. cargo load 4,500 lbs., current payload 1,000
