PzKpfw II (Sd. Kfz. 121) Ausf. D/E (TL 6) Copyright (C) 1996 by James Lowry (jlowry@tfb.com). In 1938 an effort to redesign the Panzer II as a 'Fast Fighting Vehicle' was made, resulting in the D and E models. The hull exterior was redesigned and the hatches, engine covers, and most other elements were scaled down from the Panzer III. While it was considered a failure, nearly 250 tanks of these versions were produced, and it served as the basis for the later L (Lynx) model. The 20mm gun (crit|cr|6d*4|20|14|1 mi.|2 mi.|4|6) is an anti-tank adaptation of the normal aircraft autocannon and has 75% cost, and 50% RoF. The MG 34 (crit|cr|7d|19|10|1,000|3,900|15*|50) is in the same mount as the main gun and is operated by the gunner. Minor Bug: Suspension problems nullify improved suspension advantages off-road. Again, I used _Panzerkampfwagen: German Combat Tanks 1933-1945_ by Chris Elliot and Hilary Doyle as reference. The Panzer II is a TL 6 vehicle [Oct. 95 errata sheet] with a weapon from High Tech.
