Panzerjaeger 38(t) Ausf. G/H/Panzerselbstfahrlafette II/Marder 38 (Sd. Kfz. 139) Copyright (C) 1996 by James Lowry (jlowry@tfb.com). This was a primitive conversion, mounting the captured Russian 76.2mm anti-tank gun on top of a Panzer 38(t) hull. It was available before the rest of the Marder series because of the ready availablity of the chassis and gun. Produced in late 1941, 176 Marder 38s were produced on the Ausf. G chassis and another 138 on the Ausf. H. Its long 75mm gun (crit.|*|*|no|12|*|*|1/4|1) with AP (cr.|6dx14|1 mi.|3 mi.) and HE (exp.|6dx4[6d]|n/a|2 mi.) is mounted on top of the vehicle with a gunshield that is wrapped around the sides and swivels with the gun. The adjusted cost is pre-WWII even though the variant was developed after the war started. I used _PzKpfw 38(t) in Action_ by Charles K. Kliment and Hilary L. Doyle, _Panzerjaeger in Action_ by Uwe Feist and Mike Dario, and _Self- Propelled Anti-Tank and Anti-Aircraft Guns_ by Peter Chamberlain and John Milsom as references in designing this vehicle.
