Sturmgeschuetz III Ausf. G (Sd. Kfz 142/1) Copyright (C) 1996 by James Lowry The final version of the Sturmgeschuetz III, the G has become the archetypical tank-hunter of WWII. The simple construction and effective long 75mm gun allowed over 9000 to be produced from early 1943 to the end of the war. The adjusted cost is pre-WWII even though this variant was developed after the war started. Its main armament is a long 75mm anti-tank gun (crit|*|*|no|*|*|*|1/4|1) with AP (cr.|6d*14|14|1 mi.|3 mi.) and HE (exp.|6d*4[6d]|12|n/a|2 mi.) in a foward casemate mount. The MG42 machine gun (crit|cr|7d|20|12|1000|3900|20|50) is in a pintle mount on top of the vehicle and is controled from inside. I used _Sturmgeschuetz III in Action_ by Bruce Culver as reference.
