Flammpanzer 38 (t) 'Hetzer' Copyright (C) 1996 by James Lowry. In December 1944 20 Hetzers were converted to flamethrowing tanks by replacing the main armament with a flamethrower. Other than the new weapon the vehicle remained unchanged. A fake 75mm barrel was fitted over the flamethrower to disguise its true nature. The flamethower (crit.|fire|4d|15|7|n/a|100|1) uses 1 gallon of gasoline per second and is in a forward casemate mount. The MG42 machine gun (crit|cr|7d|20|12|1000|3900|20|50) is in a pintle mount on top of the vehicle and is controled from inside. I used PzKpfw 38(t) in Action by Charles K. Kliment and Hilary L. Doyle as reference in designing this vehicle. The Flammpanzer Hetzer (v. 1.0) is a TL 6 vehicle [Mar. 96 errata sheet] with a weapon from High Tech, my alternate sloping rules and a new flamethower.
