PzKpfw II (Sd. Kfz. 122) Flammpanzer II Copyright (C) 1996 by James Lowry (jlowry@tfb.com). After some testing in late 1939, 85 Panzer IID/Es were converted into flamethrower tanks in January 1940 and eventually used on the Russian front. The adjusted cost is pre-WWII even though this variant was developed after the war started. The flamethowers (crit|fire|3d/sec|14|7|n/a|35|1|100) are in front facing mini-turrets which are mounted on the fenders with the tanks directly behind. The MG 34 (crit|cr|7d|19|10|1,000|3,900|15*|50) is in the turret and is operated by the commander. The turret is turned with a hand crank. Minor Bug: Low muzzle velocity halves the max range of the flamethowers. Again, I used Panzerkampfwagen: German Combat Tanks 1933-1945 by Chris Elliot and Hilary Doyle, and "The German Panzer II.D & Variants" (no author given) in Vol. 5, No. 10 of AFV-G2 as references.
