The 73mm low-pressure gun had dissapointing range and was dangerously inaccurate in high winds due to the rocket nature of its round. It was replaced by the 2A42 30mm autocannon. The BMP-1's Sagger and BMP-1P's Spigot ATGMs were replaced by the Spandrel in an open mount that is fired from inside the vehicle. The vehicle commander has been moved up to the turret, where he should have been in the first place. His old position has been fitted with a machinegun firing port. The 2A42 is a normal 30mm autocannon except for its dual rates of fire. It may fire at either 8 or 5 rounds per turn. The first is intended for use against aircraft, the second for ground targets. The PKT is a normal 7.62mm MG, and the Spandrel is a normal Med. ATGM with SACLOS guidance. I used John Freiler's water drive, with the modification that the non-retractable tracks do not affect the waterborne speed. The very cramped seats take up 15cf, cost $100, and weigh 50 lbs. They are typical of the seats in Russian AFVs and the backs of Italian sportscars. Anyone over 5'6" who rides in one for over an hour takes an extra point of fatiuge, anyone over 6' takes two, from being hunched over in such a tight space. The vehicle has one very serious bug. The massive bug is the use of magniesium armor. Yes, the metal that you use to make flares. Care to guess what happens when a big shaped charge hits one of these puppies? Any hit with a HEAT round or a beam weapon that does over 6dx5 of damage has a 1 in 6 chance of invoking the confetti rule (V162) for each multipule of 5. (ie. up to 6dx4, no chance, 6dx5 to 6dx9, 1 in six, 6dx10 to 6dx14, 2 in six, etc....) Micronuke direct hits would automatically invoke it, assuming that by some miracle they didn't invoke it by doing 6000+ points of damage....
