Light Hovertank A v1.0 (TL 8)

        This hovercraft fills the classic cavalry roles - scounting, screening
    and pursuit.
        The hypercannon with HE (crit|exp|6d*4[6d]|no|13|n/a|2 mi.|1|40+25) and
    APFSDS gives some punch and the MG (crit|cr|12d|13|16|1,500|5,000|16*|2500)
    helps against infantry, but the cerametal armor can't resist serious anti-
    tank weapons. Sensors are thermographs (9 miles nominal range), ladars (15
    miles) and ALLTVs. The hovertank requires oxygen for the engine, but the
    crew has a sealed environment. It is rated for worlds up to 1.5 G.
        The tank is a TL8 vehicle [Mar. 96 errata sheet].
    
    Structure: 600 cf expensive extra-heavy body (HT 1,500), maximum load 27t,
        60 degree front and 30 degree top slope, seal, hovercraft lift system
        (DR 100L, HT 750) with vertical stabilizer and advanced controls. 100
        cf full-traverse turret (HT 150) with 60 degree front slope.
    Propulsion:  2 MW ducted fan.
    Power:  2,040 KW hydrogen combustion engine (DR 5, HT 40) with 600 gallons
        hydrogen (self-sealing, DR 5, HT 125, fire on 10) for 440 minutes and
        100 KWh rechargeable power slugs (DR 5, HT 12). Excess power 10 KW.
    Accomodations:  Two normal and two cramped seats, one normal seat is half
        in the turret, no significant windows (only vision slits).
    Crew Requirements:  Driver, commander/gunner and two dismounting scouts.
    Armor:  1,600 points advanced laminate armor, F6/1,200L (sloped) B6/200L
        R6/200L L6/200L T6/300L (sloped) U6/200L and 1,200 points adv. laminate
        turret armor, TF6/800L (sloped) TB6/200L TR6/200L TL6/200L TT6/200L.
    Cargo:  10 cf (and 9.8 cf waste space).
    Accessories:  In the body - 38 dischargers, compact fire extinguisher,
        improved IR cloaking, laser sensors, 8 man-days limited lifesystem, NBC
        kit, radar locator, basic sound baffling, partial stealth, two HUDWACs
        with virtual panorama/pupil scanner, three minicomps (C3, DR 3, HT 4,
        electronics), GPS. In the turret - two long-range thermographs (scan
        20, DR 3, HT 10, electronics), two medium ladars with rangefinder (scan
        20, DR 3, HT 10, electronics), two ALLTVs (+5, DR 3, HT 4,
        electronics), INS (DR 3, HT 6, electronics), two secure long-distance
        radios (DR 3, HT 4, electronics), two IFF, microwave com. Programs:
        Database (10.8 GB recognition guides and maps), datalink, sensor
        operation (C3, skill 14 or +3), routine vehicle operation (C3, skill
        13), 2*targeting (C3, +4).
    Weaponry:  A 15mmCL MG (aircraft variant, DR 5, HT 20) with 2,500 rounds
        coaxial to an autostabilized 50mm hypercannon (DR 5, HT 40) with 25
        APFSDS and 40 HE rounds in the turret.
    
    Statistics:  Cost $2,600,000, design mass 17t, maximum payload 10t, maximum
        cargo 0.45t, current load 1t, loaded mass 18t, size modifier +4 (turret
        +2), radar signature +1, IR signature 0, acoustic signature 0.
