Budget Scout Car v0.6 (TL 08)

        This armored jeep was build for cash-poor third world armies. It costs
    little more than a 'technical' (a pickup with a MG), but it is a lot more
    effective. Against modern opposition, it reports contact by failing to call
    in or possibly a scream on the radio ...
        The basic structure is quite standard, with an imported ceramic engine
    and foam-filled tires. That frame is covered with steel plates between 7 mm
    and 18 mm, protection against small arms and mines. The car is armed with a
    heavy MG (crit|cr|15d|20|16|1,500|6,000|8|100) and an IR-homing 40mm rocket
    (crit|sxp|4d*2(10)|20|6|n/a|1 mi.|1/30|1). The driver can see with a simple
    IR sensor (0.67 miles nominal range) and light amplification. Other notable
    gadgets are a decoy discharger (choose load), an IR light and a GPS.
        The car is a TL08 vehicle [July 96 errata sheet].

    Structure:  160 cf cheap medium body (HT 300), maximum load 3.2 tons, 30
        degree front slope, four puncture-resistant wheels (DR 4, HT 19/38)
        with off-road suspension.
    Propulsion:  40 KW all-wheel drivetrain.
    Power:  40 KW ceramic engine (DR 5, HT 12) with 10 gallons diesel (self-
        sealing, DR 5, HT 8, fire on 6) for 16 hours 40 minutes.
    Accomodations:  Two normal and two cramped seats, only vision slits.
    Crew Requirements:  Driver and commander/gunner.
    Armor:  170 points standard armor, F6/75 (sloped) B4/20 R4/20 L4/20 T4/20
        U5/40.
    Cargo:  None, but 21.5 cf access space could be used.
    Accessories:  Discharger, environmental controls, cheap passive IR (scan
        13, DR 3, HT 2, electronics), light amplification, GPS, two multiband
        radios, IR spotlight (DR 5, HT 2, exposed equipment), tow hook.
    Weaponry:  15mm caseless MG (DR 5, HT 20) with 100 rounds and a 40mm rocket
        launcher (DR 5, HT 6) with a IR-homing HEAT round on pintle mounts.

    Statistics:  Cost $20,000, design mass 2 tons, maximum payload 1.2 tons,
        current payload 0.4 tons, loaded mass 2.4 tons, size modifier +3, radar
        signature +3, IR signature +4, acoustic signature +4.

    Ground Performance:  Speed factor 30, top speed 75 mph, acceleration 3.75
        mph/s, deceleration 10 mph/s, MR 1, SR 3, gets 100 mpg.
