The shuttle is designed for 4 tons of cargo and ten people (@ 400 lbs. with luggage) on flights into LEO. From some launch sites it might be able to make GEO, but it couldn't come back again. The endurance is a mere 6h, just for a trip to the transfer station and back. Sensors are radars (with 40 miles nominal range) and LLTVs. Note that most of the listed delta-V is spend for the start. The shuttle uses TL08 tech [Dec. 93 errata sheet] with the chemical rocket from Robots. Structure: 6,400 cf advanced light body (HT 2,500), maximum load 80 tons, excellent streamlining, sealed body, three retractable wheels (DR 2, HT 139/278) with improved suspension and waverider wings (HT 1,250). Propulsion: Twin 80t chemical rockets (DR 5, HT 100), 2D vectored thrust and 19,200 gallons rocket fuel (DR 5, HT 1500, fire on 11) for 7.2 min. Power: 25 KWh rechargeable power cell (DR 5, HT 4) for 5h radar use. Accomodations: Ten seats, no windows. Crew Requirements: Pilot and copilot. Armor: 400 points advanced armor, F6/70 B5/40 R5/40 L5/40 T6/40 U6/70 RW6/50 LW6/50. Cargo: 400 cf (and 380.73 cf access space). Accessories: Compact fire extinguisher, G-seats, 10*6h limited lifesystem, radar locator, two SR radars with rangefinder (scan 20, DR 3, HT 4, electronics), two LLTV (+4), airlock, four optical minicomps (C3, DR 3, HT 4, electronics), dual controls, INS (DR 3, HT 6, electronics), two GPS, braking chute, two long-distance radios (DR 3, HT 4, electronics), two transponders, laser communicator. Programs: Database (479.25 GB maps and manuals), datalink, sensor operation (C3, skill 14 or +3), tactical vehicle operation (skill 13). Statistics: Cost $80,000,000, design mass 74 tons, max. payload 6 tons, maximum cargo 5 tons, current load 6 tons, loaded mass 80 tons, size modifier +6, radar signature +6, IR signature +15, acoustic signature +11 (ground) or +7 (air). Ground Performance: Speed factor 28, top speed 350 mph (reduced to stall speed), acceleration 12.5 mph/s, deceleration 10 mph/s, MR 0.25, SR 5. Water Performance: None. Air Performance: Speed factor 160, stall speed 35 mph, top speed 2,000 mph, acceleration 25 mph/s, deceleration 10 mph/s, MR 1.75, SR 6, ceiling unlimited. Space Performance: Acceleration 2 G to 5 G, delta-V 13 km/s.
