Dropship "Hadley Mk.II" v0.1 (TL 9) Copyright (c) 1996 by "Onno Meyer" The Todai Technosystems "Hadley" was designed to transport an AFV from an orbiting starship onto a planet up to 1.5 G or an airless moon with half the gravity. A secondary role is the retrieval of drop-capsule units once they secured a pickup site (the BPC armor could not even resist heavy infantry weapons). The dropship carries a gauss gun and a lot of rockets to clear the landing area, but it is not intended as a gunship. Life support lasts for a day, but the reaction mass lasts only for one hour. In space, the engines give a delta-v of 60,991 m/s. The sensors (18-mile thermograph, 60-mile ladar, 10-mile multiscanner and ALLTV) are insufficient for space combat. The dropship uses TL9 technology [Dec. 93 errata sheet]. Structure: 4,000 cf advanced heavy body (HT 4,000), max. load 120 tons, very good streamlining, sealed body, four retractable skids (DR 22, HT 333), flotation hull (flotation 100 tons), two wings (HT 2,000 each), vertol lift system. Propulsion: Twin 60 ton fusion rockets (DR 5, HT 150 each) with two 1,333.3 gallon wing tanks and a 1,433.3 gallon body tank (DR 5, HT 250 each).
