This vehicle is for Lafe Bagley, CyberSavant, Rory, Michael Smith, Daniel C. Sobral and Jonathan M Thompson, who asked for a "Space: Above and Beyond"- Fighter. This design is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike a "Hammerhead". Aerospace Fighter v1.0 (TL 09) Copyright 1996 by Onno Meyer This fighter spacecraft was build to escort Space Marine troop craft down onto planetary surfaces and to support the Marines there. The fighter has two hardpoints and two pairs of twin linked particle guns (crit|imp|6d*20|10|20|1.5 mi.|3 mi.|2*3|10 KWh) under the nose and on the back (they share one targeting system). The power cells give 200 shots (each hour of ladar or jammer use uses one shot). The air lasts for only 3 days and the reaction mass for a mere 40 minutes, but on full thrust the fighter pulls 4 or more Gs. Sensors are thermographs (with 27 miles nominal range), a ladar (30 miles) and multiscanners (5 miles). The cockpit section with most electronics is detachable for easy maintenance. The fighter is a TL09 Vehicle [July 96 errata sheet].
