RUR is proud to present the Rover, a robotic vehicle capable of short duration independent remote reconnaissance. It is equipted with a variety of short range sensors and an active electromagnetic sensor array (AESA). The probe can carry enough fuel for up to 4.5 hours of continous thrust at .4G accelleration, while the power systems provide enough power to run the AESA for 3.5 hours and all other equipment continuously.

The Rover has two full rotation turrets, the upper one containing a long range laser communicator and the other containing a search light, low-light TV, multiscanner, and AESA array. In addition, the body houses an advanced radar and laser detector. The two turrets allow the laser communicator to maintain Line-Of-Sight (LOS) with the ship while independently aiming it's sensors in the other turret.

The Rover provides two separate communications systems. The primary communications channel is a long range laser communicator, mounted in a full-rotation turret on top of the Rover. This allows the Rover to stay in contact with the launching ship provided it stays within LOS of the ship. The secondary radio communicator is primarily intended to listen for possible radio signals at extreme range, but it is also capable of acting as a scrambled long range communicator.

The RTG power plant is capable of operating all the equipment except the AESA with 18.5 kWs excess power. The power cells provide a rechargable energy bank capable of continuously operating the AESA for up to 3.5 hours. When not using the AESA, the excess power will automatically be routed to recharge the power cells.

Unlike most robitic vehicles, the Rover provides access space for servicing the engines, power plant, and power cells. This makes it much easier for a mechanic to do routine maintenence.

The Rover is designed to be carried on a 2000 lbs hardpoint. It has sufficient armor to protect it from atmospheric re-entry provided it is properly placed in a protected location on top of the ship's body.

The scout service has also made use of the rover as a temporary communications sattellite, putting it into orbit before decending to a new planet's surface. This allows it to relay information from ground personal back to a base camp on the planet.
