Suborbital Fighter v1.0 (TL 08) Copyright (c) 1995 by Onno Meyer It is much easier to reach an orbital altitude than to get into a real orbit. The Suborbital Fighter uses this fact to loft missiles right into the flightpath of whatever it wants to hit. The fighter uses a 13.5-mile thermograph, a 135-mile radar and ALLTVs to aquire targets. It has HVKK (var|18|cr|6d*30(3)|40|4,500|5 sec.|0|1/4|6) to make the kill. Chaff, flares and jammers increase the survival rate. The fighter uses TL08 tech [Dec. 93 errata sheet] and chemical rockets from GURPS Robots. I realize the drives break the laws of current science, but this is SF :-) Structure: 500 cf advanced medium body (HT 600), maximum load 10 tons, radical streamlining, sealed body, three retractable wheels (DR 2, HT 34/67), variable-sweep waverider wings (HT 300) and advanced controls. Propulsion: 10t turboramjet (DR 5, HT 75) with 2D vectored thrust and 250 gallons jet fuel (DR 5, HT 75, fire on 11) for 30 min. and a refueling probe, two 15t chemical rockets (DR 5, HT 40) with two 120 gallon wing tanks and a 760 gallon tank (DR 5, HT 50/125, fire on 11) for 2 min.
