It doesn't change much, just gets bigger :( I think this is just about as big an aerospace design as is practical. Anything bigger is just WAY too expensive. This thing is more expensive than a stealth bomber, but lots more dangerous :) TL10 Corvette, BOB FTL CVT-A v1.00 This is a basic prototype of a TL10 Corvette/Patrol Boat. It uses a dual STL drive (reactionless & reaction), with the BOB FTL drive. It was built to get a feel of what TL10 spacecraft would be like. This was built around a few basic assumptions. Whether a C-punk universe or not, at this time neural interfaces are the norm for military craft. A small craft would not be built with lot's of redundant hardware to survive long battles. They either die fast or run. I have taken a few liberties with the construction rules to make construction easier. The first and biggest is that I use a formula [armorfactor=(((Volume)^(2/3))*6)] to determine the armor factor instead of using the table. Aside from being a lot easier to work with in a spreadsheet, it gives a better feel, eliminating the step effect of the table (I suspect the table was created to reduce the math for those without the mathematical inclinations). I also assume that engine pods can be up to 80% of the main body size (if the main body is streamlined, then the pod must also be similarly streamlined, or limited to 10% of body size). I have also interpolated the superstructure table to create an advanced material (for advanced superstructures on advanced bodies). I also provide extra g-stressing for the ship, by multiplying the body and superstructure by the g-stress factor (in this case three, basically the body & superstructure material are tripled). This provides a 50% protection factor on the ship's maximum thrust. Lastly, this craft uses four systems not in Vehicles or Space, developed specifically for the SSUS. The BOB drive, SFTL comm. & sensors, and the Superconducting current loops are listed in another post. Everything else is pretty much stock Vehicles TL10 :) This is a small light spacecraft built for military duty. It is built around a crew of eight. It is provisioned for 1 year, but will rarely see duty for that long at a time. It uses a dual propulsion system, Reactionless Thrusters (0.75g) for the long haul, and Fusion Rockets (1.25g, water reaction mass, 40 minutes thrust at max.) for short hard maneuvers. The Fusion Rocket can also function as a Fusion Air-Ram, eliminating the need for reaction mass in an atmosphere (TL10 reconfigurable equipment). This ship carries the Slow FTL `BOB' drive, with a multiplier of 75, giving it an effective maximum thrust of 150g and a cruise thrust of 56.25g. It carries a great deal of firepower & point defense for it's small crew and size. All of it's weapons are currently STL systems, but that's only because I have yet to design missiles with BOB.
