Transatmospheric Fighter v0.1 (TL 10) Copyright (c) 1995 by Onno Meyer The transatmospheric fighter was designed to supplement fighter wings without atmospheric capabilities. For this reason, the orbital performance is seriously limited. Since warships are heavily armored, the main gun is a fixed xaser (ver|imp|6d*20(3)|20|20|20 mi.|50 mi.|4|100 KWh) in spite of the obvious drawbacks of this mount. To compensate, a high number of HVGM (prog|20|pxp|6d*1,000|400|3,200|15 sec.|-2|1/6|20) are used against more agile aircraft. Two N-PAWS (crit|imp|6d*15(2)|5|18|1 mi.|2 mi.|1|10 KWh) are the computer-controlled point defense guns. Sensors are only a 80-mile thermograph, a 280-mile xadar and ALLTVs, but neutrino coms give a secure link to ground operators or a carrier spacecraft. The fighter is a generic TL10 vehicle [Dec. 93 errata sheet].
