Fighting Ship (TL2)

        This ship is somewhere in the transition from the knarr to the cog. It
    is a clinker-built open ship, much like a Viking longship, but less
    streamlined. It is a bit large for a Viking-era knarr.
        The ship is equipped with a forecastle, sterncastle, and a fighting top
    for the mast. The oars are mainly of use when the ship is equipped as a
    fighting ship.
        This ship is translated from Sea Steeds and Wave Riders, the first
    roleplaying supplement to cover ships. Its author, Dave Sering, based his
    design on reconstructions of ships from 12th and 13th century city seals.
    
    Structure:  3,350 cf TL4- cheap medium body (wooden), maximum load 134,000
        lbs., (Body HT 2,250), flotation hull with average hydrodynamics
        (134,000 lbs.). 370 cf expensive (wooden) superstructure (forecastle,
        HT 400), 67 SF top deck, 740 cf expensive (wooden) superstructure
        (sterncastle, HT 500), 84 SF top deck, 40 cf expensive (wooden)
        superstructure (mast top).
    Propulsion: 8 three man oars, 5.28 KW with average ST11. One 65 foot mast
        (PD 2, DR 2, HT 325) with 2100 sf sail, 126 KW with 20 mph wind.
    Accomodation:  None.
    Crew requirements: 8 crew and rowers from the fighters.
    Accessories: Galley.

        S2T1/1F. Fighting top has 5 points standard flammable armor (wood),
        S3F1/1F S3B1/1F S3R1/1F S3L1/1F S3U1/1F.

        sterncastle.
