The Razor Beak version 0.7 Copyright 1996 by Gilmer Young The RazorBeak is a craft built by Elgin Hawk Nose, from the sailing nation of Veska. Elgin and a small group of enchanters and shipwrights built the vessel from the ground up to be a fast cargo vessel. Elgin is very proud of it, and his prices reflect that. It's armed with TL 4 ballistae fore and aft firing either bolts (16|imp.|5d|25|4|250|500|1/30|1) or stones (16|cr.|10d|25|2|--|300|1/30|1). Note also that Captain Elgin's enchanters have also provided him with 10 Oak golems weighing in at 250 lbs. apiece (included in payload wt.) for defense against boarders. The Razor Beak is a TL4 vessel in all respects but the enchantments. In a no mana world, it would be unable to move. Note also that weight and space were considered for 100 cheap open seats, which is considered to be the weight and space the oars occupy. In a pinch, the crew can man the oars, driving the vessel at approximately 5 mph. The power plant requires special mention. It's a series of iron bars, each with a metal ring on the end, through which the end of the oars are put, enchanted to rotate. a pair of levers control the vessel, altering the rowing speed on each side much in the same way an old-fashioned tank's throttles control the speed of each tread. The Razor Beak is a TL 4 vessel built with Mar. '96 Errata.
